How Can persistent Cough And Cold Be Treated?

I got this persisting cough that won t go away I get this every winter.If drink something cold makes me cough more or when I go outside the cold air makes me cough someone told me it might nasal and sinus drip in back of my throat I try everything for it and nothing works what can I do

It is definitely possible that it is related to post nasal drip of mucus since this is the most common cause for chronic (persistent ) cough.

The other common causes are : GERD (gastroesophageal reflux), asthma.

Some persons may not be aware of the drip itself or may not have the other typical symptoms of GERD.
Since post nasal drip is the most common reason however, you can try treatment for this and see if it helps

The medication sometimes needs to be used consistently for 2 to 4 weeks before there is an effect.
Meds include antihistamine/decongestant combinations such as zyrtec d, allegra d, claritine d, benadryl d.
One of these can be combined with a nasal spray such as nasonex, nasocort, flonase
